High-Tech Bridge and UN agency, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), announced the use of ImmuniWeb as part of the toolset to ensure that the websites of ITU’s Member States are secure.

With government websites under constant threat of attack, the ITU has put together a bundle of security tools and services to evaluate security and provide protection to its 193 Member States’ websites.

ImmuniWeb is a web application that provides security assessment solutions with a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) delivery model. The ImmuniWeb web security scanner is a unique hybrid of an automated vulnerability assessment and an accurate manual web application penetration test performed in parallel by security experts.

"This partnership with High-Tech Bridge, within the framework of the ITU-IMPACT initiative, will assist Member States, in particular developing and least developed countries, to use these tools to improve the security of their websites and counter cyber threats and related vulnerabilities," said ITU Secretary-General Dr Hamadoun I. Toure.

Ilia Kolochenko, High-Tech Bridge CEO, comments: "Web application security is one of the weakest links in corporate information security today. In our experience at High-Tech Bridge, almost 90 per cent of security incidents directly or indirectly involve insecure web applications. Many government institutions don’t have enough resources to prioritize information risks and this is why government websites often become the victims of hackers. ImmuniWeb SaaS from High-Tech Bridge is a unique solution that will enable governments to evaluate the state of their web resources security in a fast, simple and affordable manner. ImmuniWeb is a perfect decision-making tool that can help even non-technical people to understand their information security risks and properly remediate them. We are proud to be partner of ITU and to be able to deliver our security solution to the governmental and state websites."

The official announcement of the cooperation will take place at ITU Telecom World 2013 in Bangkok, which takes place from 19-22 November 2013. TU Telecom World 2013 is the platform for high-level debate, innovation showcasing and networking for the global ICT community. High-Tech Bridge will present ImmuniWeb SaaS to the participants at ITU Telecom World 2013, where High-Tech Bridge is an official partner and exhibitor.
