The State of Vaud grants financial support of CHF1.65 million to Enairys and its academic partners to make Enairys' HyPES technology marketable.
Within the framework of the program « 100 million for renewable energies and energy efficiency », the Council of the State of Vaud granted a financial support 1.65 million Swiss franc over 3.5 years to Enairys and its academic partners of the Federal Institute of Technology of Lausanne (EPFL) and the University of Applied Engineering and Management Vaud (HEIG-VD) located in Yverdon-les-Bains.
This important financial support will allow Enairys and its partners to make a quantum leap in the hydro-pneumatic energy storage and firstly to realize, further to the on-going Mont-Soleil pilot project, a second commercial pilot-plant with 25kW power rating intended for ecological management and storage of photovoltaic energy. This new pilot-plant will be realised in partnership with the “Services Industriels de Lausanne (SiL)” the local power utility, that will prepare and provide for about ten years a pilot site equipped with photovoltaic panels.
The second phase of the project will be dedicated to the scaling up of HyPES technology. The objective of this phase is to develop by the end of the project a hydro-pneumatic energy storage and management system (HyPES) with a power rating of 250kW, in order to address the huge market of medium and high power applications.
Enairys Powertech Ltd is a spin-off of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland, founded in 2008 and headquartered in its sciences park in Ecublens.
