A framework collaboration agreement has been signed between the USI Startup Centre and Camera di Commercio, dell’industria, dell’artigianato e dei servizi del Cantone Ticino. The goal is to increase the economic impact of start-ups and strengthen the network between young and established organisations.

The signing recognises the mutual interest and potential for collaboration of the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) and the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Crafts and Services of the Canton of Ticino (CC-Ti) in promoting the startup world in the region and innovative entrepreneurship among young people. USI Rector Luisa Lambertini emphasised the value of networking to increase the university's impact on the territory: "Our USI Startup Centre supports the development of new companies in the field of scientific research and promotes an entrepreneurial culture in the academic community. It is important to complement this commitment by networking with other organisations to increase the impact generated outside the campus and in the real economy."

Cc-Ti Director Luca Albertoni emphasised the importance of the agreement for the region's economic growth: "As the umbrella organisation of Ticino's economy, we believe that promoting entrepreneurial culture and fostering the creation of new businesses is crucial. We hope to see these startups grow and become established companies that contribute to the economic development of our region. This agreement represents an important milestone towards a cantonal innovation network.".

The signing ceremony was attended on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce by the Director Luca Albertoni and the Vice-Director Michele Merazzi, and on behalf of USI by the Rector Luisa Lambertini, the Pro-Rector for Innovation and Corporate Relations Luca Maria Gambardella, the General Secretary Giovanni Zavaritt and the Director of the USI Startup Centre Francesco Lurati.
