Innobooster projects
SurgeonsLab, incon.ai and Antefil Composite Tech are the newest startups in Gebert Rüf’s  InnoBooster programme. Over the next 1.5 years, the teams will enhance their projects with funding and support provided by through program.

The InnoBooster programme by the Gebert Rüf Foundation enables university-based, high-potential businesses from the Venture Kick programme to accelerate their market entry substantially. During a period of 1.5 years, the selected teams receive support and CHF 150’000 to fuel the development of their projects.

SurgeonsLab, Fredrick Johnson Joseph: ARTORG Centre for Biomedical Engineering Research
Founded in 2021, SurgeonsLab is developing realistic, patient-specific models and simulations for training microsurgical procedures, enabling endovascular interventions and validating new medical devices. Based on medical image data of real patients, the startup creates 3D simulations models of a patient’s head anatomy with all required micro-anatomies, including functional and physiological properties in less than 48 hours after receiving the patient’s CT data. Neurosurgeons use these models in a 4D simulator to train microsurgery and achieve accurate results in the operating rooms. The boost fund of CHF 150’000 will be used to bring the Patient-Specific neurosurgical case planning simulator to the market.

Instructive Construction AG (incon.ai) |Timothy Sandy |: ETH Zürich
The technology behind incon.ai allows builders to interact with 3d building models on the construction site. The company’s computer vision and AI algorithms turn smartphones, tablets, or Augmented Reality headsets into tools that give intuitive instructions and real-time feedback to guide construction projects. The solution eliminates the need for printed plans and blueprints and empowers both professionals and hobbyists to deliver complex projects easier, cheaper and faster. In 2020, Incon.ai won the 3D Pioneers Challenge, and the Kitrvs Winery, built with incon.ai’s technology, made it to the final stage of the Industrial Building of the Year on ArchDaily.

Antefil Composite Tech | Christoph Schneeberger| ETH Zürich
Antefil transforms lightweight structures by enabling manufacturers of fibre-reinforced plastics to exploit more cost- and energy-efficient processes through its affordable and sustainable high-quality textiles made from hybrid fibres – even at a large scale. it achieves this by combining reinforcing filaments with a thermoplastic matrix material before processing them into textiles and structures. With guaranteed quality, Antefil’s filaments are suitable for a wide range of applications across various industries such as automotive, aerospace, pipes and wind turbine blades, and sports and leisure equipment. Antefil fibres can be used in one-shot overmoulding, stamp forming, filament winding, and vacuum bag manufacturing processes. This is all thanks to the highly hybridised and flexible nature of its fibres.
