World Tourism Forum Lucerne (WTFL) has launched the second Start-Up Innovation Camp. Swiss startups developing innovative solutions to transform the travel, tourism and hospitality sector can now submit their applications. Registration closes on 22nd September.

The Swiss Start-Up Innovation Camp is an initiative of the WTFL and a one-day event of start-up pitches, coaching sessions, keynote speeches and workshops for entrepreneurs. The event is designed to stimulate dialogue, foster the exchange of ideas among both the youth and experienced leaders as well as startups and to bring innovation in the sector to the next level. The Swiss Start-Up Innovation Camp is also in line with the "Tourism Strategy of the Swiss Confederation" and supports its special focus on start-ups in order to improve the overall productivity of Swiss tourism.

Following the success of the first Swiss Start-Up Innovation Camp, the WTFL is now launching the next edition of the camp in search for the most innovative business models for the travel, tourism and hospitality industry. Eligible to apply are Swiss startups with a tourism-related concept or a solution related to tourism in the future. The companies must be younger than five years with at least a Minimum viable product (MVP) in one of the category of Transaction, Destination, Hospitality, Mobility and Impact.

The submission deadline closes on 22 September. The jury will nominate the finalist that will present their solutions to the audience on 8th November 2019. One startup from each category will win the Start-Up Innovation Award prize of CHF 5'000. In addition to 2 years of free coaching with experienced industry executives, the winners will get a free entrance ticket to the World Tourism Forum Lucerne 2021.
