BIC of CERN Technologies 2018

The high-tech funding program «Business Incubation Centre of CERN Technologies» aims to connect young companies with accelerator technologies to enable innovative products and solutions. Startups can submit their applications for the next run of the incubator until May 31.

In July 2018 PARK INNOVAARE, CERN, the Paul Scherrer Institute and the FHNW launched the Business Incubation Centre (BIC) of CERN Technologies. The first run of the incubator program received a high number of applications from all over the world. The winner of the first round was Geneva-based startup Securaxis, whose product RTExD solves safety and security issues in smart cities.

Startups that have not been on the market for longer than two year can now apply with their business idea for the BIC of CERN Technologies. The incubation program targets startups which are involved with accelerator and related technology. An independent committee will choose this year’s participants in a two-stage selection process.

The winner of the BIC of CERN Technologies will be supported by the program for two years, receive preferential conditions for using CERN technologies intellectual property, access to experts of the Paul Scherrer Institute as well as startup coaching provided by the FHNW. In addition, the startup will also get seed funding of 50’000 Swiss Francs. Application deadline is May 31.
