Create real solutions for our planet and our people in just 54 hours. Join the Sustainable Revolution.

Do you have an idea that you would like to pursue or a problem that you would like to solve, but don't know where or with whom to start?

For the first time, we will organize a Startup Weekend dedicated entirely to sustainability in Geneva!

This event is part of the Global Startup Weekend Sustainable Revolution, a global initiative that aims to put sustainable development at the forefront of the world stage.

Participants will present projects that tackle some of our generation’s most challenging problems and receive feedback from mentors in the sustainability community. During the event, participants will develop the idea as well as devise a feasible business model.

This global edition will take place on June 21-23 in more than 40 cities around the world! After this local event in Geneva, a final round will be held online where each local city winner will pitch their idea via a one minute video. The 5 best projects selected by the public will receive special prizes to help them launch their startups!

The event is aimed at engineers, technicians, designers, marketing professionals, business professionals, and entrepreneurs and will be held entirely in English.

What is a Startup Weekend?

In just 54 hours, you will experience the highs, lows, fun, and pressure that makeup life at a startup. As you learn how to create a real company, you'll meet the very best mentors, investors, co-founders, and sponsors who are ready to help you get started.

Startup Weekend is your chance to learn how to take any idea from concept to creation within a matter of days! Whether you are looking to...

  • get introduced to the world of startups and entrepreneurship,

  • learn the process for going from concept to creation,

  • meet experienced, talented, and passionate entrepreneurs in your city,

  • join or build an all-star team,

  • learn and practice new skills to take back to your job, or

  • take your idea from concept to creation

What do you need to bring?

Lots of energy! You'll pitch your idea or listen to others, then vote on the most interesting ideas and form teams with diverse skill sets. You can come with friends, but you’ll get the full experience if you participate in separate teams. Remember, it’s all about the team.

Your idea should be something you have not previously worked on. The idea you pitch and the problem you set out to solve can span social, educational, financial, environmental, or other issues. Throughout the weekend, you'll be challenged to create a prototype of your MVP, or minimum viable product, that fits the needs of your target customer. You'll get feedback, iterate, and likely pivot your approach entirely! Important: You cannot have worked previously on your idea.
