4th Annual Impact Summit Zug

This year's Impact Summit Zug covers three themes: Ocean, Health and Consumption. While each of these is important, our speakers will also elaborate on how these three are connected to each other.

Oceans represent 70% of the surface of this planet. Protecting them is paramount to ensure biodiversity. Just recently, the UN proposed to protect 30% of the oceans instead of currently 2%. Besides that, they are also the source for most of the water that rains down on lands and hence the water supply for humans. Water scarcity limits food production and hence fosters malnutrition and dehydration and hence, affect the health of millions of people. This is just one example of how our health is connected to water.

Besides cleaning the oceans, oceans may also be protected by not polluting them in the first place. Consumption behaviours have significant influence thereon. Changing clothes twice a day increases washing, which again increases the amount of detergent.
