Cotierra (formerly) Terra Preta provides high-quality carbon removal to sustainability executives at net-zero committed companies while helping farmers in the Global South improve their margins. We enable decentralised biochar production from agricultural residues on small farms in Latin America and its application on soils to store carbon and reduce fertilizer use. We do this by partnering with coffee/cacao suppliers and their networks of thousands of farmers. We equip their workforce with our proprietary reactors that are cost-effective, small-scale, mobile and equipped with sensors for remote monitoring as well as our digital control system to generate carbon removal credits and sell them on the voluntary carbon market.
